Esther Rose

Mixed media Artist Esther Rose relocated to Whanganui from Wellington. She has been a working artist for over twenty years, studying and teaching art groups and privately, as well as teaching to community schools.
“ I have found inspiration for my work through local cultures as well as ancient traditions such as Judaica, Celtic and Inca. I work across several mediums including leather, fabric design and abstract collage. My art often explores symbology, language, religion and customs. I have a destination in mind when creating, and I like to leave markers to guide perception.”
