Pamela Lilburn Dip.TD.
The desire to continue and build on my learning, the passion for fabric, thread, colour and design, along with the influences of where I live and the problems of isolation and accessibility, have led to my current Roadside works.
The road is my Awa, my link to, and buffer from, the outside world. It separates and connects. I used to travel it without noticing its complex and diverse beauty. Translating this intriguing scenery into my textile art has now become my passion.
A passion for fabric and thread and a desire to be creative using the “womanly arts” of sewing and embroidery, learnt from my mother and grandmothers as a child, lead to my completing a Diploma of Textile Design from Wellington Polytechnic.
